BIOGRAPHY

Suzanna Scott
B. 1974, Pennsylvania, USA

Biography: Suzanna Scott, a North American artist based in Ruston, Louisiana, captivates and challenges viewers with her unique approach. Her art, characterized by sutured stitching, skin-like surfaces, and witty references to body parts, explores the complexities of gender, sexuality, equality, and bodily autonomy. Embracing repetition, Scott delves into the ever-evolving social struggles within our bodies and society. Her work, exhibited across the United States and internationally in countries like Chile, Malta, and Russia, reflects a profound exploration of existence. In her garage studio, Scott engages in daily "rage-stitching," using everyday materials to create multiples that speak to the essence of contemporary human experience.
