Biography: Cathy Jacobs, a Detroit-native with a BFA in painting from Wayne State University, skillfully crafts woven, three-dimensional artworks that traverse the realms of painting, sculpture, and textiles. Her artistic journey expanded during her MFA candidacy at Eastern Michigan University. With exhibitions spanning the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, Jacobs has left a mark at renowned events like the World of Threads Festival in Ontario, the Architectural Digest Design Show in NYC, SOFA Expo in Chicago (with Next Step Studio and Gallery), and a collaboration with Cluster Crafts in London. Currently, her captivating work is showcased at the prestigious South Bend Museum of Art Biennial 32.
