Biography: Bruna Petalla is an emerging, self-taught, Latina artist who is inspired both by her Brazilian roots and the chosen home that has allowed her creativity to blossom, New Orleans. Bruna has built on her extensive background in advertising strategy, turning her skill at getting people's attention into an art form. Her eye-catching work is often found around New Orleans, where she started her art practice after being called to send positive messages to the public during lockdown as part of the “Plywood Project”. Her temporary murals with catchy slogans and bright colours informed Bruna of her power as an artist to inspire joy in others. Her work continues to be lively, celebrating joy through bright colors. Larger than life plants, softly abstract shapes ,and forms play together in Bruna’s pieces. She works to stir emotions in passersby, for them to remember they too are full of joy and gratitude for this beautiful world we live in.

Special Projects: Bruna Petalla is a muralist, designer, and founder of Bruna Petalla Studio since 2020. She led the creation of New Orleans’ largest public mural—46,000 sq. ft. across 59 pillars—completed in just 16 days with a team of 10 artists. She has painted over 50 murals, revitalizing spaces and supporting community growth. Her work blends art and branding for clients like Arts New Orleans, Tulane University, Winn-Dixie, Psycho Bunny, Ruby Slipper, Nola Ready, The Iris Motel, Krewe of Red Beans, Idea Village, New Orleans Entrepreneur Week and more. In 2024, she co-founded NOLA Mural Fest, a community-focused project commissioning murals in local neighborhoods to inspire safer, more vibrant spaces.
